Can you Help Ultimate Group ‘Sleep Easy’?

Every night we slide into our nice warm bed sheets, in our own home, safe and secure from the outside world. Forgetting how cold this time of the year can be because we’ve got the heating turned up high, much to the frustration of our other half.

…But do any of us stop to consider that this might not be the case for everybody in the UK? Some people may not have a bed to sleep in, they may have to spend their nights trying to find somewhere safe (as can be) to sleep on the streets or if they’re lucky, a sofa to surf on. Having to move on night after night, not knowing where they will end up…

Can you ‘Sleep Easy’ knowing there are an estimated 4,700 people sleeping rough across the country on any one night? That’s 4700 people more than there should be.

This is why The Ultimate Group will be taking part in the YMCA Humber Sleep Easy 2020 which helps raise awareness of youth homelessness.

This campaign will see supporters sleep outside for one night to raise awareness of the hundreds of young people who sleep rough every year and raise funds to support the development of Move IN & Move ON initiatives. Many people arrive with absolutely nothing. During the Move IN, besides providing accommodation and support services on site the necessities are also provided. When residents are ready to be independent again, the support of our Move ON initiative assist residents back into independent living within the community.

This year’s local event will take place on 7th February 2020 at Freshney Place car park, Grimsby from 6pm to 6am. The Team will spend the night outside and get involved with a shelter building competition, a warm-up session, plus some fun activities.

Last year the Ultimate Group managed to raise an astonishing £1635, this year we would love to take it to the next level and push boundaries with our fundraising and create much more awareness within our local community.

Katherine Goldsmith, Account manager at Ultimate Digital who took part last year said:

“This experience was truly challenging, I am forever grateful to be able to live the life I lead and have a warm home to return to. I take my hat off to those who are on the streets, in all weathers, as they are some of the toughest people I have met”

Can you help Ultimate Group Sleep Easy on 7th February?…

All proceeds go to YMCA Humber – Thank you for your continued support
