Forget Bill – Be More like Brian…

Everybody has seen the infamous memes about Bill posted on various social media platforms, and how everybody should be more like Bill. But here at Ultimate Digital we think you should be more like Brian!

Brian Dillon joined Ultimate Packaging back in 2014 as a Warehouse Operative, with an eager taste for print, having previously worked for a sheet fed printers based in Grimsby.  He was keen to develop his knowledge and experience within this particular printing sector and soon realised his passion lay within the newly developed digital print facility Ultimate Digital.

Part of Brian’s job role as Warehouse Operative was to deliver pallets of raw material into the print works to ensure the presses could keep running efficiently, he loved how the team operated and soon made it known to Simon Mayo – Digital Systems Manager that he was looking for a new challenge, and persistently asked if there were any vacancies each time he dropped off any new material – which would have been a daily occurrence.

Brian said: “Digital Printing is so innovative and exciting, I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part offor Brian, seeing Simon Mayo and his team working over at the print facility made him more adamant that he wanted to get the opportunity to prove himself and knew that persistence is always key.

After days, weeks and months of asking Simon for a job religiously each time he made the journey to the digital site, it soon came to light that there was a job vacancy for a Trainee Digital Printer.

Brian seized the opportunity and Simon knew straight away he was the man for the job and was delighted to finally be able to offer Brian a position in the exciting world of digital.

Simon Mayo and Kerry ColeDigital Manager said: “Brian has become a great asset to the digital team due to his hard work, attention to detail and willingness to learn new technology.

He joined the team with design experience and an interest in digital print which has proved invaluable as he shows a flair for quality checks and colour matching. Long may it continue…”

Since being taken on as Trainee Digital Printer Brian has successfully trained & progressed to the next level as Digital Press 20000 Level 1 Operator and is looking forward to achieving his next grade in the near future.

It just goes to show, being more like Brian means you can achieve anything if you stay persistent

Here at Ultimate Digital we encourage hardworking individuals to stay passionate about what they want to achieve and we will endeavour to help you succeed.
