Ultimate Digital has been rewarded for its innovation as well as its environmental mission in schools with two shortlisted nominations in the Solutions Awards 2019.
But we need your help to spread the word.
Our packaging for Rutland Charcuterie – the first range of flexible packaging of this type to include an augmented reality experience for customers to interact with – has been nominated in the Solutions for Innovation category.
The tailor-made app from Ultimate Digital has enabled Rutland Charcuterie consumers to scan the Rutland logo on all their packs, which takes them on a fun and interactive adventure.
While our Kids Ink schools project, which enables schoolchildren to use interactive technology to design their own environmentally friendly lunch bag, has been nominated for the Solutions for the Environment award.
The Solutions Awards are an annual celebration of print, paper, design, service and the environment hosted by publishers Earth Island.
Chris Tonge, Executive Director of the Ultimate Group, is particularly delighted with these nominations, as they illustrate the firm’s drive to adapt the latest technologies for digital printing.
These nominations come on the back of being shortlisted for the Digital Labels and Packaging Award at the FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards 2019.
“Another two nominations illustrates our determination to support business of all sizes not just with their packaging solutions, but also with the latest digital print innovations – helping them to stand out from the crowd,” said Chris.
“A huge well done to our digital team for all their work in creating the technology around augmented reality packaging and for the Kids Ink project, which we hope to expand into schools across the country in the coming year.
“Help us to spread the word by voting for our entries on the Solutions Awards website.”
Kids Ink recently scooped the Flexible Packaging Award at the 2019 HP Inkspiration Awards UK & Ireland.
The schools project ticks boxes across the national curriculum, from design and technology to teaching youngsters about global sustainability issues and how they can make changes – however small – to help the planet.
If your school is interested in taking part, take a look at our new video on the kids-ink.co.uk website and contact Emma on 01472 255410.
Those behind the Solution Awards, which will be handed out at the Cafe de Paris in London on November 12, said: “The entrants are all leading creative companies who show exactly why print is so dynamic and exciting.
“You can show your support for these companies, and see some wonderful examples of print based projects, by voting for the nominees.”
